Over a year ago my husband and I switched to sulfate-free shampoo. We heard that sulfate found in many shampoos can strip your scalp and hair of its natural oils. We were looking for a more gentle cleansing shampoo so that is why we made the switch. I was recently introduced to the SoapBox line of shampoos and conditioners available at Target. These product are sulfate-free and paraban-free so I was anxious to give them a try.
Not only does SoapBox make great products they do great things too! When you purchase Soapbox Shampoo or Conditioner SoapBox donates one month of clean water to communities in need. There is even a code on the back of each bottle that you can enter online to see where your purchase is going. I love supporting companies that give back!
I really loved the smell of the Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner, it was fresh smelling and not over powering. The scent was just right.
When using shampoo’s free of sulfate you will notice that they don’t create as much lather as other shampoos, this in no way means they aren’t cleaning as well. Since I have switched to sulfate-free shampoo & conditioners I believe my hair is just as clean and doesn’t feel so weighed down. Sulfate-free shampoo is also safe for color treated hair.
I was very impressed with this shampoo and conditioner, it left my hair feeling light, smooth and healthy. I will gladly buy this shampoo and conditioner again. I plan on giving the other great varieties a try too. The Acai Berry Fruit sounds heavenly to me (fruit scented products tend to be my fave).
Here are the four varieties of SoapBox Shampoo and Conditioner and the benefits of each one:
Argan Oil – Argan Oil, native to Morocco, is well known for its ability to smooth frizzy, damaged hair. Packed with Vitamin E, this oil is regarded by many as the “liquid gold” of benefit oils.
Batua Fruit Oil – Bataua Fruit is native to the Amazon rainforests of Brazil and long regarded for its root-to-tip hair repairing talent. Packed with essential fatty acids and amino acids, Bataua fruit oil works by nourishing both your scalp and hair.
Acai Berry Fruit Oil – The tiny purple fruit may be small in size, but it is packed with antioxidants, protein, omega-3, 6, and 9, and all the vitamins of the alphabet (well, at least A, B, C, and E).
Coconut Oil – Rich in vitamins E and K, coconut oil works by penetrating into hair follicles and binding around hair’s proteins (like a tiny hug!), leaving hair thick and moisturized
