Keep in mind if Amazon raises the price between now and when you get to the store the price match will not work.

  1. I tried to price match at Target yesterday and use a manufacturers coupon, but they wouldn’t accept the coupon. Is that normal?

    1. I went to 2 separate stores trying to price match some FP items last week, using K’mart’s 50% off sale. 1 store allowed me to do this with no problem at all – even pulled up the online prices for me using their own I-pads (since they did say I couldn’t use the printed store ad since it was only a 50% off sale and not an actual sale price per item). The 2nd store fought me tooth and nail and refused to let me use my coupons with the price match, even though I had the price matching policy stating you CAN use both store and MF coupons when price matching, pulled up on my phone. They even refused to read it! But in the end, I beat them at their own game! 🙂 I bought the items at their store full price, went back to the other store that was very willing and helpful to price match for me and returned them, and re-purchased them at the price matched price with the coupons!! I don’t know why they won’t train their store employees the same way for each store??!!

  2. will target allow you to use a target coupon if you are price matching? I have the manufacture coupon as well as a $10 off target coupon for it.

    1. Technically “no” they won’t allow you to use a Target coupon. They will apply the Target coupon first and then match the price which really negates the coupon in the first place.

  3. Can I use a coupon when price matching?

A guest can use coupons when price matching per Target’s normal coupon policy. When the guest presents a coupon(s), these steps will be followed:
    • Manufacturer coupons: manufacturer coupons will be applied after the price match is made.
    • Target coupons: Target coupons will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor’s price.
    • Combining both Target and manufacturer coupons: the Target coupon will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor’s price. Once the price match is made the manufacturer coupon will be applied.
    • Reminder: we accept one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item unless either coupon prohibits it. Target does not ad match a competitor’s coupon-required offers.

so, both my coupons should be accepted then! That’s awesome!

    1. The Target coupon will be of no use, because they will apply that first and then price match. It’s kind of silly the way the word their policy.

  4. How do you price-match? I don’t have a smartphone, so can’t pull it up at the counter to show them. Can I not price-match online prices then?

    1. My Target stores actually pulled out their own I-pads and found the online prices for me, you could ask them to do that for you??

  5. I had both the Target & mfr Q and snagged it for under $7 but it seemed bad when I looked at their policy which reads- Target coupons are to be used before the price-match which means if the competitor price is still lower there is no point using it (like in this case) and yes it said Invalid mfr coupon first (when I used both of them) but the guy at guest service was prompted by his supervisor to go ahead 🙂 With just one mfr coupon it didn’t beep for me.

  6. There price matching policy on their corporate site very clearly says – even give directions as to how to use them! – that you can use both a MF and a store coupon on an item being price matched!! I’m a little passionate about this because I went to 3 stores last week trying to price match several items and 1 of the stores very rudely fought me on this even though I had the info pulled up on my phone for them to read!

  7. I can’t find the coupon…. I can only find a $2 off and a $3 off. I clicked both links. HELP! This would be the perfect gift for my 9 month old! And to price match a website do I just pull up Amazon on my phone? I’ve never done it before! Thanks so much for your help!!
