Target Car Seat Trade-In Event 2020 (9/13-9/26)

8/30/20

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Get ready!!  The popular Target Car Seat Trade-In Event will be returning starting September 13th and running through September 26th 2020.  This year things will be a bit different.  Drop off your car seat or base in the specialty marked box outside your Target store, and you’ll receive a 20% off coupon good on your next car seat, stroller or select baby gear purchase.

Guests can redeem their 20% off coupon in-stores or online at Target.com.  There isn’t any information on how long the 20% off coupon is valid, as soon as we get more information we will be sure to update this post.

This year the Car Seat Trade-in Event is contactless for your safety. Here are the steps you’ll need to complete in order to receive you coupon:

  1. Drop off your old car set in the specialty marked box outside Target
  2. Open the Target app & scan the code on the box
  3. Go to your wallet and click “extra offers” to view your coupon
  4. Tap the green check mark beside the offer to order online (or scan barcode inside store at register)

Quick question… We need a new car seat but not ready to get rid of the old one. Will they hand out coupons upon request without a trade-in?

No, you need to trade in a car seat in order to receive a coupon. Hope this helps.

Thank you! Bummer, but I thought I’d ask. BTW, there is a 10% off Cartwheel offer for the Graco Extend2Fit too, so that would be additional savings!

I was just coming to post that! We got the Extend2Fit that was on sale for $159.99 and after the coupon and the 10% cartwheel, it came down to $115. A whole 50% off! We don’t need this car seat till December but couldn’t pass up the price

When does the coupon expire? My sister hasn’t given birth yet so I would like to wait to use the coupon 😆

Can you use the registry discount coupon and the trade in coupon together?

If I remember correctly I think people have been able to use both. We won’t know for certain until the coupon is released and we can read the fine print.

If you trade in more than one car seat do you know if you can use multiple 20% off coupons at once on a new car seat?

Last year they only took 1 coupon per item. You were not able to double up.

Am I able to use it on 2 of the same boosters? Or will it only come off of 1 of them? I have 2 bases to trade in.

You will get 1 coupon per base.
It’s one coupon per transaction. You can totally get both boosters…just have to be separate purchases.
