Peppermint Rice Krispies Treets (See what I did there?)

The holiday season means we get to enjoy lots of yummy treats. One of our favorite treats to make at home is Rice Krispies Treats. Lately, we have been making them every Sunday, they are such and quick and easy treat to make. Now is a great time to stop by Target to pick up the ingredients you need for homemade Rice Krispies Treats because this week when you buy 2 boxes of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies you’ll get a bag of Jet-Puffed Marshmallows FREE (10 oz).
This time around we made our Rice Krispies treats festive by adding peppermint and shaping them into trees. We’ve turned them into Rice Krispies Treets, they turned out so cute! Here is what you need to make your own.
Peppermint Rice Krispies Treets:
- 6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal
- 10 oz bag Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
- 3 TBSP butter
- 3-4 peppermint candy canes
- 1 package of Wilton white candy melts
- one decorator bag
Make Rice Krispies Treats as directed on the cereal box or from the Kellogg’s website. I like to use the microwave method because it’s super quick and easy. Once cooled, remove Rice Krispies Treats from pan and cut into triangles.
Next, cut candy canes into 1 1/2 inch pieces, and insert one into the bottom of each tree. Crush the remaining candy into small bits and set aside. Microwave the candy melts in a decorator bag until melted, pipe onto the treats and sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the top.
You now have fun and festive Rice Krispies Treats for the holidays.
You could also wrap these up individually in cello bags and tie them up with a ribbon to give to neighbors or friends.
