DIY Cordless Table Lamp

8/25/21

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Target has these amazing mini table lamps right now. They’re from Threshold™ and come in a ton of different styles. You guys…they’re only $10! Awesome right? Let’s make them even better though. How would you like a table lamp that is cordless and controlled with a remote? All you need are a few supplies and less than five minutes of time. Let’s go!

You’ll need:

  • Textural Ceramic Mini Lamp Threshold (or take a look at these other mini lamps)
  • wireless puck light with remote
  • super glue
  • scissors

I do want to mention a few things to keep in mind when looking for puck lights. Target carries them, but they’re usually a better price on Amazon. I actually picked these up from Walmart. They came in a pack of five, included batteries, and were around $15. I also liked that they were 40 lumen with an adjustable brightness. Also, make sure the puck lights you buy will fit in the lampshade you have. If you don’t want a remote you can buy the push activated puck lights instead. There are plenty of options out there so look around to find what works for your needs.

Place the lampshade on the base of the lamp.

Open up the puck light. Put the batteries in but keep the two pieces separated for now.

The puck light is going to sit on top of where the light bulb would normally be screwed in. Put a generous (but not messy) ring of glue there. I prefer using a fast drying super glue.

Place the base of the puck light on top and center it as best as you can. Apply a little bit of pressure so it seals well as the glue hardens.

Once the glue is set you can twist on the top of the puck light.

Cut the cord since you won’t be needing it anymore.

No outlet? No problem! Now you can place the lamp anywhere. This table lamp is made for people like me who like to rearrange often. What do you think about this easy wireless lamp hack?
