Toxic Treats: Halloween Treat Holder from Target Dollar Spot

Toxic Treats - Made with containers from the Target Dollar Spot

Have you checked out the Target Dollar Spot recently, there are so many cute things for fall and Halloween. I will be making a few fall gifts and treats out of these items to share with you over the next couple of months.

Target Dollar Spot treat holders

I made some fun treat holders out of the Test Tube Shot Glasses that I found in the Target Dollar spot.   These come in a 3-pack for $1.00.   These didn’t require much effort at all.   I simply filled the test tubes with fall colored M&Ms, added a cork to the top (I picked these up at JoAnn Fabric & Crafts.)   I made a tag using my Silhouette machine, if you don’t have a Silhouette you can easily make tags with your computer or a rubber stamp.   I finished it off by tying the tag on with black and white Baker’s Twine.

Super simple!    You can get a great deal on the M&M’s for this project using the following coupons:

M&M Chocolate Candies $2.66 ~ Buy 2
$1/2 Target printable coupon
Save 10% with Cartwheel by Target (-$.22)
$1.50/2 coupon from 8/18 Red Plum insert
Final Price = $1.30 each

You can also save 10% off (4) items from the Target Dollar Spot with Cartwheel by Target.

Yes! I shopped the dollar spot last week and went nutso! But I didn’t see the test tube shot glasses! Such a cute idea! I may just have to go back tomorrow to see if I can find them!

What size corks did you use? I found ones that were 1.25″ taper to 1″ and they are just a little small… only a tiny bit sticks out the top of the test tube.

I am not exactly sure what size they were. I bought a big bag with mixed sizes, so it didn’t have the exact size written on it. I already gave away all the treats too, so I can’t measure. Sorry! Next time I head to the craft store I will see if I can figure out what size they were.

Sigh! I’m so sad my local target here in hawaii doesn’t have all these cute things you posted on this post! I always have to ask my cousin to get me stuff and pay her + shipping for it. Boo! But thanks for sharing. Nice to see what is out there.
