I picked up a box of the Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bars and got creative by making a Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Cake. To make this fun dessert, prepare boxed strawberry flavored cake mix as directed. Use half of recipe in 9×9 pan and bake for 25 minutes or until done. (I used the excess cake mix to make cupcakes).
After cake is done take out of oven and let cool for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, take Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake bars and remove sticks and place on top of semi-warm cake (you will use 6). Let sit for about 10 minutes or until the ice cream starts to soften. Use a spatula to smooth out the ice cream bars on top to make a nice even layer. Place in freezer for 3 hours.
To serve, slice cake and top with strawberries and whip cream. YUM!!
