Markdown Schedule
Target marks down the clearance items in each department on a specific day. Please keep in mind this schedule may vary a bit from store to store, but for the most part these are the days that each departments get marked down:
Here is the schedule for each department:
Monday – Electronics, Accessories, Kids Clothing, Books, Baby and Stationery
Tuesday — Domestics, Women’s Clothing, Pets and Market (food items)
Wednesday — Men’s Clothing, Health and Beauty, Diapers, Lawn & Garden items
Thursday — Housewares, Lingerie, Shoes, Toys, Sporting Goods, Decor & Luggage
Friday — Auto, Cosmetics, Hardware, & Jewelry

hey, my target marked their lawn and garden today….Tuesday and not on Wednesday…so I missed some of things I wanted…b/c I was waiting for tomorrow. Do you think they did this b/c of tomorrow being the 4th?
@jamie Yes, I am guessing the 4th of July kind of threw things off for the week. My store ended up marking down the lawn and garden stuff today instead of Wednesday.

Bedding is on Thursdays.
I am wondering if about the girls summer clothes clearance. I know some of it went to 70 off. But there is still alot left. When do you think the rest of the clothes will get marked down again.
It will be on Mondays, they seem to markdown the clothing on a more regular basis than most other departments. It could be as early as this Monday, but I am guessing by Monday, August 13th for sure.
Hello, I was wondering what their schedule is for marking items from 30% to 50% and so on? If an item is on sale at 30% one week, will it be marked to 50% the following week?

Not all “baby” markdowns are on Mondays. Diapers and wipes are Wednesdays. I was a Softlines (clothing) dept manager for ~4 years
Im afraid I’m going to miss the arts and crafts markdown. Do you know what day they mark them down?
I think they are done on Mondays with the other stationery items.

Yes, as far as I know it is current. Some stores my vary from the schedule slightly. I have a store here that does their toys on Wednesdays and all the others do theirs on Thursdays.
