Target Cartwheel Perks is Ending

Target had a trial period for a loyalty program called Cartwheel Perks.  We’ve just heard that Cartwheel Perks will be ending. Please note, this does not mean that the Cartwheel offer will end.  The Cartwheel offers will be switching over to the Cartwheel app soon, so you will still be able to find them there.

Check out the following from CNBC: “Cartwheel Perks allowed Target in-store shoppers to accumulate points each time they made purchases. After reaching a threshold, users could then redeem points for items such as apparel, food, water bottles and sunglasses.

The pilot launched in September in Denver, Houston, San Diego, St. Louis and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.

Existing users can still earn points until Aug. 27 and must make selections of what they want to redeem by Sept. 27, Target said.”

Cocoa Pebbles Donut Treats with Free Printable

I had to make some treats for an event and I wanted to do donuts, however there was going to be lots of traveling involved and donuts aren’t very “packable”.   I finally came up with a clever idea to use Cocoa Pebbles to make marshmallow treats that I made into the shape of donuts.  I think they turned out super cute (and tasty too)!

I’m sharing this fun recipe, so you can make some too.

Cocoa Pebbles Donut Treats :

  • 4 TBSP butter
  • 5 cups of mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups of Post Cocoa Pebbles Cereal

Icing:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 TBSP water
  • Food coloring (if desired)
  • Sprinkles

Add butter to a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave for 30 seconds, or until melted.   Add mini marshmallows and microwave for 1 minutes, remove from microwave and stir the marshmallows and butter.  Place back in the microwave for one more minute.  Remove and stir, the mixture should be completely smooth.   Stir in Cocoa Pebbles.

Spray a donut baking pan with cooking spray.   Take a large serving spoon and add the Cocoa Pebbles mixture to each donut. Take a piece of wax paper and press down the cocoa pebbles to make sure they are packed in nice and firm.  Place in freezer for 5 minutes and then use a knife to simply lift the donuts out.

Next is the fun part, you get to add icing and decorate.   I like to use a couple different colors for the icing.  I often use a decorator bag and snip off the end with scissors, it makes decorating quick and easy.  Add sprinkles to make them extra festive.  This recipe should make approximately 12 donuts.

Let the icing completely dry, then add each donut into individual bags and tie them up with strings and attach a tag.   You can print the fun “I Donut Know What I’d Do Without You!” gift tags to use for your treats too.


These would be fun to hand out at a birthday party or they would make a fun treat for when the kids head back to school.

Target Weekly Clearance Update

Here is the Target Weekly Clearance Update. These items were found at the Federal Way, WA Target location. Keep in mind clearance deals will vary by location.

I found kids shoes marked down 50-70% off.   Don’t forget there is also a Cartwheel offer for an extra 20% off all kids clearance clothing, shoes and accessories.

I also found clothes for kids marked down 30-50% off.

I founds some kids books at 70% off.   These books can usually be found in the same section as the electronics clearance.

Plastic storage containers were 50% off

Snow Cones Makers and Ice Cream machines are 30% off.

Summer pitchers and drinkware are also 30% off.

I found lots of goggles marked down to 50% off.

The baby gear is currently 50% off at my store.   We should see these items go down to 70% off this Monday or the following Monday.

DIY Target Funds Bank with Free Printable

Are you following All Things Target on Instagram? It’s such a fun way to check out some of Christy’s awesome Target finds. When I saw her share this coffee funds bank I thought two things: (1) I need this (2) I need this to say Target Funds. Well, problem solved.

You’ll need:

There are a few different bank designs. Don’t worry about the wording. Just pick a color/design you like.

Remove the back of the bank by sliding it out.

Lay the bank on a table with the front facing up. Carefully push the clear plastic down until it comes apart from the sides of the bank. It’s fine if it breaks apart since you won’t be needing it again.

Now you’ll want to get the new design printed. The type of transparency film you need depends on what kind of printer you’re using. I used this kind in my laser printer and had no problems with the ink smudging. If you don’t need a whole package of transparency film, see if your local print shop can print one for you.

Click here to find the free printable Target Funds sign. For best results, print it on the transparency film at a scale of 100%. The square should measure 5.25″ x 5.25″ when printed.

Cut the square out and slide it into the bank. Secure it to the sides with a thin line of hot glue.

Slide in the back of the bank and start filling it up!

If you want to create your own custom design simply create a 5.25″ square and put whatever text or image you like inside. Since I know I’m not the only Disney fan here, I also created a free printable Disney Funds sign. I can’t wait to make this one next!
